At House Of Diagnostics, Breast Imaging for Women is conducted using X-Ray with Conventional Mammography, Ultrasonography, MRI Breast Examination with Breast Spectroscopy & Contrast Imaging and with the highest end PET MRI Breast which is only available in India with House Of Diagnostics.
Conventional Mammography is a screening and diagnosing tool in which conventionally low energy x-rays are used to check the human breast. Mammography stands among the best ways to detect the breast cancer in its early stage. It uses ionizing radiations to create the pictures and is most commonly used screening tool.Mammography is important because in its earliest stages breast cancer may not be palpable, as it may be too small to feel as a lump or tissue change.
A breast ultrasound uses sound waves and does not use X-Rays to make a picture of the tissues inside the breast. A breast ultrasound can show all areas of the breast, including the area closest to the chest wall, which is hard to study with a mammogram. A breast ultrasound is used to see whether a breast lump is filled with fluid or if it is a solid lump. An ultrasound does not replace the need for a mammogram, but it is often used to check & correlate abnormal results from a mammogram or MRI, Look at the breasts in younger women because their breast tissue is often more dense, and a mammogram may not show as much detail, Guide the placement of a needle or other tube to drain a collection of fluid (cyst) or pus (abscess) or of breast tissue (biopsy) or to study silicone breast implant or dense breasts. In these situations, a mammogram may not be able to see breast lumps.
MRI of the Breast is a highly specialised and a comprehensive imaging study of the Breast. Combined with Contrast study and spectroscopy of the Breast on our 3T MRI is a very sensitive tool to analyze Breast Tissue and give the true picture.
State of Art, PET MRI Breast Examination using 18F-FDG or DOTA enables us to diagnose with high precision & reliability – the true anatomical & physiological study coupled with the uptake parameters on India’s Only Simultaneous PET-MRI, which were not possible until now. This examination is only available with House Of Diagnostics in India on our Simultaneous PET-MRI installed at Indraprastha Apollo Hospital. This test is specially useful for Suspected or Diagnosed Cancer patients of the Breast, for disease study and follow up.
